Alive and Well

Hey Everyone, We've made it to Wisconsin. Michigan was very nice despite the rain, wind, and cold weather. We just had our first showers in about 5 days and it felt terrific. Here's what we've been up to. First night in the camper ; )
We were so hungry after the 13 hour drive we just ate soup right out of the pot. The next morning we headed to Manistee North Pier Head Lighthouse. It was a pretty sweet place and our first up close look at Lake Michigan.
Here's one of the shots I took
We visited Point Betsie Lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes after that.
After a few days in Manistee, we headed north to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, where we stayed at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Our campsite was a bit more rustic than the last, with no showers and the smelliest toilets ever created! Literally, you could smell and taste the bathroom for 20 minutes after you exited. Here are a few of the places we ventured out to.
Mosquito Beach
Miner's Castle
Another from Mosquito Beach, where my camera bag, my camera, and I got nailed by a rogue wave.
Munising Falls, where the nice Park Ranger gave me permission to jump the barricade and get close. So many more but too much for this blog post. We are having a really great time and really miss everyone! Stay tuned for more updates. Here was our last meal before we left Michigan. A Pasty. The best thing we have ever eaten. The gravy looked like pudding!!!

  1. Its to see and hear from you. Keep the great pictures and colorful language coming. (Tasting toilets for twenty minutes, Mmmm.) paints a better image than you pictures, and thats hard to do.

  2. Looks like you guys are haveing a blast! Hope the gear was ok.
